Montreal’s Jubilee

I want to preface this word by saying that I live in Quebec, just across the bridge from the island of Montreal so I have been careful to hear and write not out of mere familiarity but in accordance with what I believe The Holy Spirit is saying.
I saw Mount Royal, the mountain in the middle of Montreal, turn into a hand and start to reach up into the sky. I saw God crown the tallest point of the hand (middle finger) with a ring that looked like a gold crown. I heard the Lord say I am crowning Montreal in this season, do not call profane that which I have called Holy!”
This is very significant for many reasons. First of all Montreal’s name derives from “Mount Royal” where the Canadian fore father Maisonneuve placed a cross declaring that Ville-Marie which later became Montreal belongs to God. The middle finger of the hand in our western culture is known to be profane, however in Quebec most profanity is directed against the church, with their most offensive word being “tabernacle” which in Hebrew translates “dwelling place” this word in Quebec is equivalent to the middle finger. Despite the history of hurt and anger toward the church God wants to crown Montreal with His glory in this season and is looking for a place to come and dwell. Many people have spoken curses over Montreal and Quebec calling it hard ground, a city full of sin, even a graveyard for preachers BUT God is raising up those with eyes to see, ears to hear and a heart to perceive what the spirit is saying! A people who will live set apart lives and pursue intimacy with God and holiness! He is asking us His church to pray for Montreal in this hour and lift her up as the city on a hill that she is!
As I am writing this it is the 375th Birthday of Montreal which falls in the same year as Canada’s 150th Birthday and 50 years since Expo 67. Expo 67 was all about “man and his world” displaying all of man’s accomplishments helping to put Montreal on the map internationally. This year is a year of jubilee not just according to the Jewish calender but for Montreal, Quebec and Canada! Today all over the city the steeple bells rang out loudlly. I heard the Lord saying, “they’re ringing in the new year, where I will wipe the slate clean and heal the history of hurt and anger and replace it with love.” Montreal will no longer internationally be known for “man and his world” but God and His people!
I’m reminded of what God spoke through the prophet Ezekiel, “I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.” ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭36:25-27‬ ‭ESV‬‬
God has heard the cry and seen the hand reach up out of Montreal and is about to touch down and crown His city, encounter His people and take back His mountain!
